Guests o-o-h and a-a-h when they walk into the Paul Bunyan log cabin home and smell the Aspen logs and cedar floor.  "Your website photos are wonderful, but cannot totally convey the wonderful feel of this cabin" is a comment frequently heard as we check guests into this private refuge away from the world.

The glowing gas fireplace which warms your body and feeds your soul has a stacked stone surround with a polished travertine mantel.  Cedar flooring gives an aromatic freshness.  Rugged looking chairs and couch beg you sit a bit before you begin exploring.

As you climb the cabin's sturdy staircase a bright cheery feeling comes via the trapezoid windows and skylights in the loft.  Step out onto the  balcony which overlooks gardens, a playhouse, and open lawn waiting for you to play.

Enjoy a scenic one mile hike on the Classic Disc Golf Course or challenge yourself on 3 1/2 miles of the Big Brother Course.  Hike the trails or in winter cross country ski, snow shoe or snow tube.

 Historically speaking:
In 1993 Aspen logs were harvested from the property to create a log cabin home to comfortably sleep up to six people.  Don, Donna, and a college student peeled, bleached, scrubbed and applied finish to the logs.  The log builder, a Paul Bunyan size man, used Scandinavian scribe techniques to build our second log cabin.  The logs are Paul Bunyan size compared to the logs used in Little House on the Prairie.  A local craftsman installed the wood shake roof, finished the interior and built the log beds.  The oak bunk beds were hand crafted by Don.

The Paul Bunyan (cabin) was more beautiful than we even expected. We have enjoyed the serenity and peacefulness of our stay. Especially sitting on the porch and hearing the country sounds. Our girls enjoyed the animals and the kitten waiting by the door. The food has been spectacular-Yum!

The Paul Bunyan (cabin) looked beautiful on the Internet, but in person—we were blown away. My knees were shaking, heart racing and a permanent smile on our faces. The white quilt on the wall is beautiful—I can’t believe it is over 100 years old. "
