The Justin Trails Disc Golf Experience

As you approach Justin Trails the landscape changes, your heart rate quickens as the dramatic rolling hills rise up around you. Turning off Highway 27 and onto County J Lush green forest surrounds the golden corn fields. Soon the big red barn comes into view. There it is.  Stepping out of the car you smell the fresh air.  A cool breeze floats down the valley. Feelings of pure calm and excitement hit you at the same time.

Disc golf is a sustainable eco-friendly sport played in the great outdoors. There are two 18 hole courses at Justin Trails. The classic course follows our left hand valley and is about a mile in length. It takes a foursome about 2 hours to play. Expect a mix of wide open fairways, tightly wooded shots along the notorious Bambi Lane, and dramatic elevation changes. The tee pads are 5 by 12concrtete and the baskets are Mach 3’s.

The newly constructed Big Brother course starts up our right hand valley with an opening 1000 foot shot.  This course will test the mettle of the toughest players out there.  The course is over three miles long and takes over three hours to play. If you are up to the challenge you’ll find blind shots, enormous downhills, amazing vistas, many risk- reward scenarios, an incredible finish, and a day of golf you will never forget.  You’ll be dropping putts into Mach three baskets.  The tee pads are currently grass but may be concrete by summertime 2008.

There has been an annual tournament at JT for the last 4 years. This year will be our first time as a stop on the Wisconsin Tour.  We keep our course open year round and host an Ice bowl tournament each winter.
The grass on the fairways is cut weekly. The grass on the rough areas is cut monthly. We loan discs for use on our course. We have Innova,  Discraft and Gateway discs for sale. The course is open during daylight hours year round. The fee to play is $5/person/day. Scorecards are available in the Lodge. Lodge has indoor bathroom and snacks, soda/water machine outdoors.  Sparta, Wisconsin is a great place to play disc golf any time of year.Choose to spend the night in one of our cabins or suites and play disc golf any time of day or night.

If camping is your preferred lodging style, Leon Valley Campground owners, JoAnn and Bernie Waege offer a beautiful, well-maintained campground.  Check out their website at:
www.campleonvalley.com.  They are located just four miles from Justin Trails Resort.

Naturally we create joy with qualtiy lodging and recreation in a secluded coulee.
